You’ll be working on a team and we’ll expect you to bring a spirit of collaboration and cooperation to the Salad Department, a sub-department of the Produce Department.

You’ll have to meet the following requirements in order to apply:

  • Have open availability, including weekends. Must be available Saturdays.
  • Be available for opening shifts beginning at 6A or 7A.
  • Be available at least 35 hours per week, consistently.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • ServSafe Food Handlers Certification preferred.

Position Summary:
The Salad Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the Salad Department. This is a supervisory position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the smooth operation of the Salad Department.
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks related to the production maintenance of Salad Department inventory.
  • Receive and check orders, submit invoices and manage credits/returns.
  • Coordinate with Store Management to produce purchase orders for department equipment, supplies and service.
  • Maintain Salad Department equipment.
  • Maintain proper procedural and compliance signage in Employee areas.
  • Safely operate cardboard baler.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness in all production and stock areas.
  • Ensure the proper rotation of inventory, both on the sales floor/displays and in back stock.
  • Oversee the preparation of salad bar items.
  • Ensure that all products requiring ice are properly chilled.
  • Request product signage as needed.
  • Train Salad Department team members.
  • Produce Salad Department personnel schedules.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate regularly with other department managers and store managers.

Special Considerations:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Working conditions include a fast-paced retail environment that involves long intervals of standing, crouching and reaching while moving product. Exposure cold temperatures while performing work in produce coolers. Some outdoor work is required.
  • Language Skills: intermediate.
  • Mathematical Skills: intermediate.
  • Reasoning Ability: high.
  • Equipment used: forklift; Hobart scales; price gun; price scanner; pallet jack; knives; cardboard baler; POS system.
  • Computer skills: Google G Suite, email, POS system.

$13+/hr DOE
